A Practical Guide to the 2026 JOCO Home + Remodeling Show

The JOCO Home + Remodeling Show returns to the Overland Park Convention Center October 23–25, 2026. With more than 200 booths listed by the venue, it can be a useful place to compare home-service companies, see materials in person and turn a vague project idea into a better set of questions.

Before entering the exhibit hall, choose one or two priority projects, gather a few measurements and photos, and list the questions you want every prospective provider to answer. Aim to leave with clearer options, not simply the largest stack of brochures.

Who will get the most from the show?

The show is a particularly good fit if you expect to hire, purchase or plan within the next year. You do not need final drawings or a fixed budget, but it helps to arrive with a real project: replacing windows, comparing roofing systems, updating a kitchen, improving a yard or learning what a larger remodel might require.

If you are browsing, choose a theme. A narrow plan makes a large hall manageable and your notes more useful later.

Families should note that the organizer lists children 12 and under as free. That is an admission policy, not a promise that every display or presentation is designed for children. If you are bringing younger visitors, plan for breaks and confirm any activity details that matter to your family.

Choose a time that matches your goal

Friday and Saturday both have published 10 a.m.–8 p.m. hours. Sunday closes at 6 p.m., and the organizer lists free admission for educators and school staff with valid ID that day. The organizer also lists an online four-pack for $24, with each ticket valid for one admission on one day.

The official page also lists free weekend admission for seniors 65 and older with valid ID, plus active military personnel, veterans, firefighters, medical professionals, police officers and other first responders. It says each qualifying “hero” admission includes one complimentary companion ticket. Read the current eligibility language and bring the requested identification; do not assume an online ticket is available for every offer.

Prepare a simple project brief

Before the show, put the essentials in a note on your phone:

  • The problem you want to solve
  • Approximate dimensions
  • Two or three photos of the current space
  • Your preferred timing
  • Whether you expect to remain in the home long term
  • A comfortable planning range, even if it is preliminary
  • Constraints such as pets, work-from-home schedules or association rules

For each company you seriously consider, ask the same core questions. Which parts of the work are performed by employees or subcontractors? Who handles permits? What product lines are available, and what changes the price? What is the likely design and production timeline? How are change orders documented? Which warranties come from the manufacturer, and which come from the installer?

Avoid making a major decision only because a show offer appears time-limited. A useful next step might be an in-home measurement, a written proposal or a second conversation after you have compared notes.

How to compare booths without losing track

The show maintains an official exhibitor directory organized by categories such as construction and renovation, flooring, heating and cooling, kitchen and bath, outdoor and landscape, roofing and windows.

Review the directory before the event and make a short priority list. At the show, record the company name, person you spoke with, the product or approach discussed, promised follow-up and one reason the option may or may not fit. Taking a quick photo of the booth’s identification sign before writing notes can help you connect the conversation to the right company later—ask permission before photographing people or proprietary displays.

Treat QR codes and lead forms as contact requests. Read what you are agreeing to, especially if the form includes text-message or marketing consent. You can ask for a business card or public web address if you are not ready to share contact details.

Parking and arrival

The organizer says parking is free, with more than 1,000 spaces around the convention center. The main lot is on the north side of the building off 110th Street, and the published information lists 244 covered spaces, including 17 designated accessible spaces. Space availability is not guaranteed, so leave extra time if you have a scheduled presentation or appointment.

The convention center’s address is 6000 College Blvd. The attached Sheraton is a useful landmark, but use the convention center’s current directions rather than relying only on an older event listing.

The venue states that ADA parking, entrances, elevators and restrooms serve both levels. It also says sensory bags and a Sensory Room are available, while loaner wheelchairs are not kept onsite. If an accommodation is important to your visit, contact the convention center before traveling to confirm current arrangements.

What to bring

A small tote, phone charger, tape measure and compact notebook are usually enough. Bring dimensions and photos, but leave irreplaceable original plans at home. Label samples with the company and product line.

Wear shoes suited to a large exhibit hall and set a stopping point. When details start to blend together, review your notes instead of adding another rushed lap.

Before you leave

Choose no more than three follow-up actions. That might be scheduling one measurement, requesting two written estimates and researching a product warranty. Put those actions on your calendar while the conversations are fresh.

If you are exhibiting rather than attending, the organizer’s 2026 exhibitor kit is the controlling planning resource for move-in, flooring, services and current rules. Near the end of your preparation, 2 Friends Printing’s JOCO Home Show exhibitor printing page can help organize booth banners, handouts and post-show neighborhood pieces into one coordinated print plan. 2 Friends Printing is an independent local provider and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the show, Marketplace Events or the Overland Park Convention Center.
